Kathleen Legaspi knows what it means to be reduced to a search result. After experiencing a coordinated campaign of online character assassination — false narratives, targeted harassment, and the kind of reputational destruction that follows a person across every professional and personal context — she faced a choice: disappear, or build something from the wreckage.

She chose to build. Digital Dignity was founded from that decision — the conviction that personal pain, when transformed with intention, can become a force for change. What began as one woman reclaiming her voice became a movement asking harder questions: Why do our laws protect platforms more than people? Why do we accept permanent punishment for temporary mistakes? Why does dignity have to be earned back at all?

Kathleen brings to this work a background in advocacy, communications, and community organizing. She has spoken with hundreds of individuals who have experienced online harm — people from every walk of life, every profession, every age — and found in their stories a common thread: the systems that govern digital life were not built with human dignity in mind.

Her work with Digital Dignity is driven by the belief that this can change. That platforms can be held accountable. That laws can be updated. That culture can shift. And that every person who has been harmed online deserves not just sympathy, but a movement standing behind them.
